Fitbit doesn't connect to OSX directly. Your steps sync through Apple Health on iPhone or Google Fit on Android.

iPhone

Use a Fitbit to Apple Health syncing app such as Power Sync for Fitbit.

  1. Download Power Sync for Fitbit from the App Store.

  2. Sign in with your Fitbit account.

  3. Allow your Fitbit steps to sync to Apple Health.

  4. Open OSX, go to Home and tap Connect Apple Health.

  5. Follow the prompts to allow step syncing.

Android

Use Health Sync.

  1. Download Health Sync from Google Play.

  2. Set Fitbit as the source and Google Fit as the destination.

  3. Allow the permissions.

  4. Open OSX, go to Home and tap Connect Google Fit.

  5. Follow the prompts.

Still not syncing?

  • Make sure Fitbit is syncing with the Fitbit app first

  • Keep the bridging app installed and running

  • Check that Apple Health or Google Fit has permission to share steps with OSX

  • Reopen OSX after your Fitbit has synced
