Keeping track of your meals, calories, and macros in OSX is simple. You can log food in three different ways:
Choose a recipe from the recipe library
Search for a food in the Food Library
Scan the barcode of a packaged food
Choose a recipe from the recipe library
Easily log meals using recipes already available in OSX. You can choose your serving size, and the app will track the nutrition for you.
From your Home screen, tap Nutrition.
Tap the recipe icon in the bottom-right corner.
Browse the OSX recipes and tap the one you want to add.
Confirm when you’re eating the meal, then tap Add to log it.
Note: Need to change the serving size or adjust the ingredient amounts? See How to Adjust Recipe Serving Sizes and Ingredient Amounts
Your calories and macros will update on your Home dashboard to show what you’ve consumed for the day.
Tip: Tap the Nutrition block on your Home dashboard anytime to see your full food diary.
Search for a food in the Food Library
If you want to log an individual food instead of an OSX recipe, you can search the Food Library and choose the portion that matches what you ate.
Tap the Nutrition block on your Home dashboard.
Tap + Add Food under the meal you want to log.
Type the food into the search bar, then tap Search “[food]” in food library.
Review the results and select the food you want to add.
Choose the correct measurement unit and enter the amount you’re eating, then click Add.
Tap Add to [Meal] to finish logging the food.
Tip: If you want the most accurate entry, weigh your food and use the corresponding amount when logging it.
Scan the Barcode of a Packaged Food
Use the barcode scanner to quickly add packaged foods and pull in their nutrition information.
Tap the meal where you want to add the food.
Tap the barcode scanner icon in the top-right corner.
Point your phone at the barcode. The app will scan the product and add the available calorie and macro information automatically.
Enter the number of grams you’re eating, then click Add.
Tap Add to [Meal] to finish logging the food.
How to Manually Enter Macros
If you already know the macro breakdown of your meal, you can enter the protein, carbs, and fats manually. The app will calculate the calories for you.
