A higher calorie target can feel strange if you're used to thinking that eating less always means better fat loss.
At OSX, calories are a guide. The bigger focus is food quality, quality protein, good training, and consistency.
Focus on the Basics
Build most of your meals around:
Meat, fish, chicken, and eggs
Dairy if you tolerate it
Fruit
Potatoes, sweet potatoes, or sourdough
Natural fats like butter, avocado, and cheese
Simple, minimally processed foods
You do not need to eat as little as possible.
Why Your Target May Feel Higher
Eating enough helps you:
Train properly
Recover well
Support muscle
Avoid constantly feeling restricted
If you've been eating very little, your OSX target may look high at first. Give it time before immediately cutting it down.
Use Calories as a Guide
Your calorie and macro targets are there to support your goal, not give you another number to obsess over.
Stay reasonably close, prioritize real food and quality protein, follow your training plan, and look at your progress over a few weeks.
Bottom line: Don't chase the lowest calorie number possible. Focus on food quality, sensible portions, training, and consistency.
