Do I need protein powder?

We don't recommend protein powder as part of your everyday nutrition. Get your daily protein from real, whole foods instead.

We don't recommend protein powder as part of your everyday nutrition. Our approach is to get your daily protein from real, whole foods instead.

Good protein sources include:

  • Eggs

  • Beef

  • Chicken

  • Fish

  • Greek yogurt

  • Kefir

  • Cheese

  • Other minimally processed animal-based foods

These foods provide quality protein along with naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, fats, and other nutrients.

Why we prefer real food

At OSX, we want you to build your meals around nutrient-dense whole foods that keep you full, support your training, and are sustainable long-term.

Instead of asking "Which protein powder should I buy?", focus on "How can I get enough protein from my meals?"

What if I struggle to get enough protein?

Start by looking at your meals and make sure each one includes a good protein source.

You can:

  • Add more eggs at breakfast

  • Increase your portion of meat or chicken

  • Choose Greek yogurt or kefir as a snack

  • Add cheese or another whole-food protein source

  • Build your meals around protein first

Bottom line

You do not need protein powder to follow OSX. Focus on real food, quality protein, and consistent meals.
